Queridos amigos, ayer Mike y yo fuimos al teatro, a los tieeeeempos. Fuimos a ver una obra ecuatoriana. El teatro de la luna, es un teatro hispano, en el área de Washington, que estaba festejando el décimo festival de teatro hispano y por la primera vez, con la participación del Ecuador.
La obra se llama: Tres, y está dirigida por Viviana Cordero y representada por la actriz Toty Rodriguez, que es muy conocida en Ecuador. La obra trata de la realidad de 3 mujeres ecuatorianas imigrantes, la imigración es un tema de mucha actualidad en el Ecuador, desde hace unos pocos años, desde que empezó la ola de imigración hacia Europa y los EEUU.
Yo estuve entre carcajadas y llantos, pues la obra es excelente y mantuvo al público constantemente involucrado y emocionado.
Si alguno de ustedes tiene la oportunidad de ver esta obra en el Ecuador o en cualquier otro país, NO SE LA PIERDAN, realmente vale la pena!!!

Yesterday Mike and I went to the theater, it has been a long time since we last went to see a play, and I have to say this one was well worth it!!!
The Teatro de la Luna, which is a Hispanic Theater in the Washington area, organized the 10th Hispanic Theater Festival, and for the first time Ecuador participated with a play called: "Tres", there was only ONE actress, but she interpreted 3 roles, she was really amazing!!! she did an amazing job, I first laughed, then I cried, then I reflected.... but all along the play I was totally engaged and filled with emotion.
I know this play touched me because it was about the recent wave on large emigration that hit my country, more than 2,000.000 Ecuadorians have left the country looking for a better life, most of them are really poor people that feel Ecuador can't offer them a future, this is a sad reality that has caused a lot of social problems for many torn families and the society as a whole....
But the fact is, home is home and we always carry our country (and that is, our culture, habits, memories, traditions, family, friends, food, etc) deep in our hearts.
This play reminded me again of how much I love my country and how much I miss it and wish it would offer people a decent life so that nobody felt they had to leave.
Above you can see a picture of the artist, Toty (the lady with the paint in her face) and myself with two of my friends. The actress: Toty Rodriguez, is very known in Ecuador, she is a remarkable artist, incredible talent!!!!

Mes chers amis, Michael et moi nous sommes allés au théâtre hier, voir une pièce équatorienne qui participait dans le dixième festival de théâtre hispanique a Washington.
Nous avons eu la chance de voire cette pièce excellente, une seule actrice qui représentait 3 rôles, vraiment très très bien jouée.
La pièce s’agissait de la vague d'immigration qui a secoué l'Equateur il y a quelques années, l'émigration continue encore, plus de 2,ooo.ooo de mes compatriotes sont parties du pays en cherchant un meilleur avenir. Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, j'ai beaucoup ri mais aussi beaucoup pleure avec cette pièce... elle m'a fait penser a toutes les choses difficiles qui vivent les immigres, dont j'en fais parti, bien que je suis une émigre avec beaucoup de chance, mais de toute façons ce n'est jamais facile de vivre loin de chez soi, du pays qui nous a vu naître et grandir...
Enfin, c'était une soirée pleine d'émotion, sur la photo vous pouvez voir l'actrice: Toty Rodriguez (avec le visage peint), puis deux de mes amis et moi!
